[Catching Up (Pilot)]

I'm gonna be honest and say this is a hard okay. The concept is fine and the animation is competent, the execution in the writing department could use a lot of work. I feel like we don't really get a clear age for the main characters in the animation itself (Idk if there's additional info on twitter or something so I'm going off what was in this) off the bat and it was confusing. I understand they're school aged, but I can't tell if the characters are middle school aged or high school, plus some other characters look wildly different in age also (like the big wolf guy who looked and sounded like an adult kissing the very small girl character for example). In another animation of these guys, I'd clarify that immediately because it was confusing for me as a viewer to gauge this very important character information.

Speaking of, I think you could do with fleshing them out a bit more and making them feel more like people but that isn't a huge problem since this is just a pilot. I'd consider this for the future though because the mouse and the cat kind of feel... empty? Overall they have potential, a grumpy guy and upbeat buddy combo are a great trope but they don't have a lot going on outside that.

Generally speaking, this is a fine animation! I just wish the story was a bit more interesting imo
